Amanda Carlson

A native of Colorado, Amanda formally began dance when she was five years old. Amanda danced with Westin Arts Academy in Ft. Collins, CO. During the 10 years that Amanda attended Westin Arts Academy, she studied and trained in jazz, ballet, modern, lyrical, hip hop, and tap. As a member and soloist of the Westin Dance Ensemble, Amanda won several first place awards in regional and national dance competitions, such as the New York City Dance Alliance.
Amanda has been teaching dance for eight years and gymnastics for four years. Amanda has choreographed for The Telluride AIDS Benefit Fashion Show for the past four years, as well as being a TAB model and dancer for six years. Amanda has also choreographed for shows including, The New Grid (Boulder, CO), Telluride Variety Show, KOTO Lip Sync, The Polar Express, The Nutcracker, Appalachian Spring, local dance recitals & for gymnasts and cheer teams.
Amanda was recently accepted into and participated in a training program at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City. She was awarded a certificate of excellence upon completion of this program. She studied a wide range of styles including Jazz, Ballet, Theater, Hip Hop, Street Jazz, Contemporary, Waacking, Vogueing, House, Break dancing, Bollywood, Horton Technique, Latin Fusion and more.
Amanda continues to further her dance education by attending intensives such as The Joffrey Ballet School’s Jazz and Contemporary Program, CU Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, and Aerial Dance Intensives. Amanda is excited to continue to choreograph, dance and teach the art of movement.
